What are the differences between woven and non-wove PP bags?

When it comes to PP bags there are two main methods of production, woven and non-woven. Woven PP bags are typically made using fabrics which are ‘interlaced’ together. Contrastingly, non-woven textiles are made by donging the fabrics with gums and chemicals. Other methods of binding non-woven PP bag threads include knitting felting and crochet. Keep reading to discover some of the benefits of the different weaving methods in PP bags and which one you should go for.

  1. Woven PP bags are rigid and as a result very strong

The high rigidity of woven PP bags means that they will not mould to what they are carrying, this may seem a drawback at first however the strength that comes with rigidness means that you will be able to carry much heavier items than with non-woven PP bags. This makes them good if your store sells a lot of heavy objects to their customers.

  • Keeping woven PP bags clean is typically very easy

Another benefit of using woven PP bags is that the tight woven fibres mean they are very easy to clean. Simply take some anti-bacterial wipes to the inside and outside surface to make sure that your bag is kept safe from germs. More porous bags like jute and canvas are much harder to clean due to the different weaves and sizes of the fibres.

  • Non-woven PP bags are more economical and greener

Despite the obvious benefits of woven-PP bags, the non-woven variety also has a lot of benefits. Firstly, the lower cost involved in their production means they are much cheaper for the end consumer. This is good if your business is looking to keep costs down. Also, faster production methods mean they are less carbon-intensive to make than other types of reusable bags.

  • Non-woven bags have a wide range of printing options available

Printing on non-woven bags is very versatile. The strong non-woven sheets produced can take both screen and heat transfer colour printing. This means that you have more options when it comes to the type of design that you want to be printed on your PP bag. This coupled with the high reusability means that you will be able to get your branding in front of a lot of new potential customers.

Find high quality woven and non-woven PP bags

Getting hold of high-quality PP bags can be a challenge if you do not know what you are looking for. Do some research online to make sure your reusable bag supplier stocks both woven and non-woven PP bags. Once you have this information, you can make a decision on the type of bag you want and the numbers you want to order them in.
