What is SG Art?

A work of art is, above all, and adventure of the mind

-Eugene Ionesco

Artist. Entrepreneur. Liver of Life. Lover of everything.

Welcome to SG Arts. This blog is a timeline and recording of all things interesting, all things useful and all things important. I’ll be guiding you through the minefield of life and giving you advice and input on art, lifestyle, home, design and life. I don’t like to call myself an expert on everything, quite the opposite in fact.

An accurate description of myself would be ‘jack of all trades, master of none’. I find it funny how people so often misquote this saying, the full quote is actually ‘jack of all trades but master of none, but often times better than a master of one.’

I fully believe that having a range of interests and having knowledge on a variety is infinitely more advantageous than having one interest that you excel at. But, that’s just me, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

That quote is the backbone of SG Arts. Many people will assume the site will be purely art focused, with pretty pictures and photographs and technical advice. But the truth is life is art. Everything we do is an art. The mere act of choosing to live is a dedication to the art that is life. That’s why SG Arts will cover everything from health to beauty to art to travel to food.

It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be wild and it’s going to be interesting.

So, we’ve got the ‘Art’ portion explained, but what about ‘SG’?

I was born in Singapore to Singaporean parents. I speak Malay and Mandarin (as well as English obviously) and my heritage is a huge part of who I am. You can find out more about me and my life by visiting the My Story page. It’s personal and revealing but by the end of it, you’ll know exactly who I am and where I am and how I got to be there.

So SG is a nod to that heritage, and while it’s an important part of me and who I am, SG Arts isn’t just going to be about Singapore and Far East culture. Where’s the fun in that? Singapore is an incredible and interesting country, but this blog is about so much more than a small corner. This blog is about the world and the lives of the people who occupy this earth.

You’ve read all about the site, you know about the name, now it’s time to get involved! Read the blogs, comment, send a message, submit a post. This site is for YOU. The more involved my visitors are, the more rounded and interesting it will be. So let’s get this party started!
